Critical Timeline Projects
We specialize in critical timeline projects that
have contract penalties or bonuses.
For example, we worked on the High Level
Bridge rehabilitation project in Alberta, Canada.
That contract had the following clauses:
-
In the event that work affecting closure of the
bridge is completed and opened to unbostructed
traffic prior to November 12, 1995 the Contractor
will be entitled to a bonus of $1600 (One
thousand six hundred dollars) per calendar
day from the
date the bridge is opened to November 12, 1995.
-
In the event that work affecting closure of the
bridge extends beyond November 12, 1995
the Contractor shall reimburse the City of
Edmonton $11,600 (Eleven thousand six hundred
dollars) per calendar day in liquidated damages for
every day beyond Novemember 12, 1995 until such
time the bridge is opened to unobstructed traffic.
-
The bridge will be considered 'opened to
unobstructed traffic' when both travel lanes are
open to traffic without any obstruction or
impediments, and both sidewalks are opened without
obstruction to pedestrians or cyclists, and all
work affecting closure of the bridge is completed
and accepted by the Engineer.
